Jane Pauley Community Health Center Launches Optometry Service Line

Indianapolis, IN – March 17, 2026 – Jane Pauley Community Health Center Launches Optometry Service Line

In alignment with their goal of becoming a healthcare home, Jane Pauley Community Health Center (JPCHC) has added Optometry to their growing list of services. This service will provide comprehensive eye exams for both adult and pediatric patients, along with an in-house glasses display that allows patients to view and order eyeglasses during their appointment. The inaugural appointment for the new service line took place on Monday, February 23rd.

The addition of optometry services expands access to care for underserved communities in Central Indiana and further broadens JPCHC’s ability to serve more patients. This new offering aligns with JPCHC’s vision of being a true healthcare home, providing comprehensive, high-quality care in one convenient location.

Optometry services will initially be offered at JPCHC’s Arlington Avenue clinic, with opportunities for future expansion to additional locations. To support this launch, JPCHC welcomed its first optometrist, Dr. Anna Slemp, who has been diligently preparing to see patients.

“I’m so excited to begin working with a new group of patients at JPCHC,” says Dr. Slemp. “My favorite part of my job is building relationships with patients and helping them see the world more clearly. I’m passionate about ensuring everyone has access to quality ocular healthcare, which is why JPCHC’s mission resonates so strongly with me.”

The addition of optometry services is especially impactful for JPCHC’s patient population living with diabetes, a condition that increases the risk of vision loss and eye disease. By offering eye care alongside existing services, JPCHC can better support patients’ overall health and long-term outcomes.

“We are thrilled to begin offering optometry services at our Arlington clinic,” says Dr. Karen Hill, JPCHC’s Chief Medical Officer. “It is our goal to become our patients’ healthcare home, and adding more services brings us closer to that goal as we continue to care for underserved communities.”

Additional expansion plans for 2026 include adding more behavioral health staff, such as JPCHC’s first psychiatrists, and opening additional JPCHC Pharmacy locations across Central Indiana.
